Early this morning, Feb. 19, the Winston-Salem Fire Department responded to a call reporting smoke on the roof of Carswell Hall. A steam cloud from the boiler on the roof was the cause for the concern. There is no fire, and the area is safe.
The University Parkway entrance to campus has been reopened. It had been closed after a charter bus carrying students from Joel Coliseum to campus was hit by a southbound car on University Parkway. All students walked onto campus, and no injuries were reported.
