Early this morning an anonymous caller made numerous threats related to a shooting on Wake Forest’s campus. University Police and Winston-Salem Police conducted a thorough sweep of threatened buildings without finding any evidence to support the claims of the caller. Police believe the calls were a hoax.

Police will continue to investigate the threat. Anyone with information is asked to contact University Police at 336-758-5911.

Wake Forest offers a variety of support and counseling services for all students, faculty and staff. For counseling, students can reach TimelyCare, a 24/7 resource, at timelycare.com/wakeforest or the University Counseling Center at 336-758-5273 (after 8:30 a.m.). Faculty and staff can use the Employee Assistance Program by calling 336-716-5493. The Office of the Chaplain is available to all members of our community by calling 336-758-5017 (after 8:30 a.m.).
