The National Weather Service reports a risk of unstable weather on Tuesday, Jan. 9. Heavy rains and high winds are predicted, and conditions may vary during the day and throughout the state. Flooding may occur.

All University operations will take place as scheduled. Weather conditions may be different in Charlotte than in Winston-Salem, and program directors in Charlotte will communicate if conditions require schedule changes. Wake Forest will continue to monitor the weather and will use the Wake Alert emergency notification system to communicate operational changes.

Stay alert and be prepared if traveling. University employees who are scheduled to work from campus and are concerned about traveling, contact your supervisor. If you experience a power outage and cannot work remotely, you may use Administrative Leave time and should notify your supervisor if possible.

The WeatherSTEM stations at the Miller Center (@WakeForestWx) and at Allegacy Stadium (@WFUFootballWx) provide real-time weather data for Wake Forest University and surrounding neighborhoods. WeatherSTEM offers apps for iOS and Android.

Weather forecasts are also available on local TV stations WXII, WGHP, WFMY, Spectrum News 14, and The Weather Channel.

More information on signing up for emergency text alerts and voice messages can be found at Wake Alert here.
