Community Safety Advisory: Motor Vehicle Thefts - Electric Bikes / Scooters

University Police received seven reports over the last three days of stolen electric scooters. All seven scooters were stored on campus near residence halls during the winter break. No suspects have been identified. 

Students, faculty and staff are encouraged to report suspicious activity promptly at 336-758-5911 (emergency) or 336-758-5591 (non-emergency), through the Wake Safe App or by filing a report online. University Police is located in Alumni Hall. With immediate concerns, call the emergency number. Reports can be made for concerns regarding suspicious activity occurring on and off campus.

If you have any information regarding the reports of stolen scooters, please contact University Police at 336-758-559, submit a tip through the Wake Safe App or by emailing police@wfu.edu.

Personal safety and security precautions

As a reminder, e-scooters and e-bikes pose a fire hazard when stored indoors. For your own safety and the safety of others, do not bring them into residence halls, offices or campus buildings.

Community Safety Advisory: Fondling Incident on Campus

University Police received a report from a student of a fondling incident on campus near the North Campus Apartments yesterday evening. Police immediately searched the area, including the adjacent neighborhood, but were unable to locate the assailant.

The report described the alleged assailant as a White male, about 30 years old and 6 feet tall with brown hair and a broad build. He was wearing a dark cargo jacket, possibly black or navy, with front pockets, gray cargo pants, dark sneakers, and appeared to be clean shaven. Please see the image below of the alleged assailant.

Anyone with information about the alleged crime is asked to contact University Police at 336.758.5911 (emergency) or 336.758.5591 (non-emergency), submit a tip through the Wake Safe App, file a report online, or email police@wfu.edu. Reports of alleged assaults may also be submitted to the University’s Title IX Office.

  • Travel on well-lit streets and throughways.
  • Report suspicious behavior, even when you are not directly threatened

Wake Alert: Campus operations delayed until 10 a.m.; exam and shuttle updates

Wake Forest’s Reynolda Campus, including Wake Downtown and other University sites located in Winston-Salem, will open at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec. 9. 

Shuttle service will start at 9 a.m. Kindercare at Wake Forest will open at 9:30 a.m. 

Exam updates are as follows:

  • ​College and undergraduate business exams scheduled for 9 a.m. will now begin at 10 a.m. in their scheduled rooms. Exams scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. will proceed as scheduled.
  • ​Students in graduate business programs with exams beginning before 10 a.m. will receive information from their faculty members regarding their exams.
  • Students in the law school will receive a separate message from the dean with details about exams, including start time.

Campus service hours may be adjusted due to the weather. Check websites for updated hours of operation for campus dining, the Wellbeing Center, the ZSR library, Deacon Health, Mail Services and WFU shuttle services.

Check with event organizers for the status of scheduled campus events. 

Colleagues who are not designated as essential personnel should avoid arriving on campus before the scheduled opening time. Those working from a flexible work location are not expected to perform work during the delayed opening hours. Managers of essential personnel should communicate any on-site or remote work expectations directly with their team members. Visit the HR website for more detailed information for employees.

Wake Forest’s Reynolda Campus, including Wake Downtown and other University sites located in Winston-Salem, will suspend operations at 5 p.m. today, Monday, Dec. 8. Shuttle service will end at 7 p.m.

Evening exams scheduled for 7 p.m. cannot be held in person. Faculty will receive instructions from their respective deans about options for tonight’s exams. Students should monitor their email for further directions.

Winter Weather Advisory - Wake Forest campus will be closed on Friday, Dec. 5

Wake Forest’s Reynolda Campus, including Wake Downtown and other University sites located in Winston-Salem, will be closed on Friday, Dec. 5, due to a winter weather advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

Faculty will receive instructions from their respective deans about options for rescheduling classes or holding them virtually.

Students should monitor their email for further directions.

While the campus is closed, some University buildings, including the ZSR Library, the Benson Center and the Wellbeing Center, will remain open due to the last day of classes and exam schedules.
